    Bolts

I remember a while ago someone was going to change all the bolts in the engine bay for zinc coated ones but I can't remember who..

I really want to clean up the bay while i've nothing else to do over winter and was just wondering if anyone knows the sizes and whats a good replacement to the ones that are on??

I'm talking about the ones that hold the headlights and wings in place specifically but i'm also gonna try finding some replacement screws for things like the scuttle - might make it a bit easier removing things for a change than looking for a torx head you can't bloody find!!

I normally just go down scrap yards and take all the best ones of the lights etc... and any other in the engine bays that arn't rusty.

Look in yellow pages for fastner supplies and take sample bolts in for em to match.

Why not go to a local plating shop, and ask them to "gold pacifate" them, usually do it for pence. It only puts "tenths" of thous on,so does not make the threads tight,
If I can dig it out,I have an upright,I got done, cost about £5,,platers near GUNNER,2Live if your interested.

I worked for 10yrs as a engineer so aquired a extensive collection of zinc plated bolts. Zinc passivate is the process to zinc bolts and gives them the gold appearance

There you are lads Gold Pacifate,as confirmed by "BIG HP",a lot easier to clean, grease, sh1t etc off, after an event ,The amount "put on" does not adversely affect ,the bearing bore size,I had them done, when I replaced my wheel bearings,on the rally car and the Williams road car.
