What are the options when it comes to inlets to gain performance?
Not much I don't think.
It was mentioned about using a PTFE manifold gasket, this helps prevent heat transfer to the inlet manifold from the head, and thus keeps the gases cooler as they flow in to the engine. Apparently AWT was going to be making some, not heard anything more about them though.
Talk to BenR from AWT (on this site), he was talking to me about custom made inlet manifolds for the F7 series engine which he can do. Keeping the standard throttle body and seeing some good gains.
u could match the ports to the head, not sure if theres much gains to be had tho for the amount of work
zero gains from matching the older clios inlets.
Surely there must be "some" gain, even if it is minimal. I mean, it would give better flow, so if mated to a set of cams, this would improve further??Originally Posted by BenR
nope, zero gain.
There is no miss match, the ports are already large enough to supply a 5.7ltr v8, so opening things up further wont enhance flow.
What exactly 5.7 ltr?
because its an industry standard size for a USDM car.
A 350 v8 is a 5.7ltr.
God damn yanks! whats wrong with cubic centimeters
So why do people get huge gains from throttle boddies then??
