    Williams Speedo Accuracy

    Hi All

I often get concerned when going through speed cameras that people driving visibly faster and slower and wondered those with GPS how accurate the williams speedo is.

People always worry about speedo's reading a higher speed than your going, but can they work the other way? Actually read a slower speed? So when your speedo says its doing 90 you could be doing a 100?

Having done a bit or reading legally they have to read higher than your actual speed 0-10% margin

Mine's only a couple of MPH out according to my sat nav. Most accurate speedo I've compared the sat nav too, as it happens

10%. Trust me I used my last employer's speed gun to test the local flashing speed sign. :P

You could go through a camera doing an indicated 45 no trouble.*

*DISCLAIMER - In no way will I be held responsible if you do and your speedo's more accurate than mine.

Tyre size, make and model plays a part in the accuracy as well. Even different tyres of the same rated size can have slightly different rolling distance.

many factors make a difference, but generally at 30mph, usually about 3-4mph out. the faster you go the more they are out!
