Your gearbox opinions

The box needs replacing in my mk1 16v and i'm after a cheap box to get it running to sell,

Would you go for a:

- second hand valver box

or

-second hand diesel box that might not of had pain all its life like a valver box

Also is it easy enough to get out through the bottom ????

Don't think the diesel box has the speedo output.

apparently the diffs on the jb1's are better than jb3's but the same internals as the jb3 according to retro-renault gurus

Don't know to much about renault termionology mate whats the code for which box

jb1's are on 1.2's and 1.4's possibly others
