    Power boost valve.......

It looks like im going to be buying a hybrid ive seen advertised. Now the car has one of these jubious power boost valves fitted to it. Its a valver with a willy block under the bonnet, piper cams and vernier pullies, SMT6 (mapped to suit the mods) Chip, full K-tec exhaust, all work done by GDi.
The question is this power boost valve doind anything? ie is it worth keeping? Is it hard to remove?

    Cheers

easy to remove, an a waste of time.

Just take it off and replace with the normal fuel pressure regulator.

Suposed to give more fuel, hence better throttle response, but never known of any car other than turbo's that these actually make a difference to.

Does the original one sit on the end of the fuel rail? Easy to re-fit? Expensive?

    Cheers for your help!

The original one sits on the end of the fuel rail, where the power boost valve is currently situ.

On the passenger side of the car.

The original pressure regualtor is not expensive, I think they are no more than a tenner.

the pipes go back on pretty much the same as they are now, fuel return, feed etc.

    It's a 5 min job.

One important point to consider, if it's been mappe with the FSE valve in place, then you're probably going to cause problems by removing it. If so, you're probably best off just leaving it on.
