    Need a renault radio code!

    Hi,

My new valver came with a Renault CD player head unit, defo looks like its from the mk1 era (defo not from a mk2 or 3).

However the previous owner let the battery run flat and doesnt have the code, anyone on here have the ability to give me a code?

If you can i will provide serial numbr e.t.c

    Thanks

i can do some, but none of the Philips units, you have to attach them to a machine to get the code from them

if its something else it might be possible

Local car stereo shops should be able to do it. I know there is one near me that does it. They fix stereos too.

I'd ask at a shop that fixes em rather than just sells em.

Looking at the top of the radio someone has put "5778" in big black writing.

But to enter the code the stereo has got to be on for 2 hours ffs, if i leave it on by ignition some pikey will probably come along and nick my car lmao.

Nah you only need to turn the ignition on the first notch, nothing turns on at all apart from the radio.

    Car started fine afterwards
