    Coolant flush

Anyone used it, my heater matrix is blocked up which is causing the car to run hot o motorway, i ahve to keep slowing down to let the oil cool down, all gaskets etc on engine are replaced so shouldn't have any problem with leaks etc, recon coolant flush will clean out my heater matrix.

Really can't be arsed to take dash off and swap heater matrix for the spare i have

blocked heater matrix shouldn't cause over-heat? :S its only for your heating in the car! Could be thermostat or fan switch? When was the coolant last flushed?

Also tried forte bio-degreaser or whatever it is for unblocking heater matrices, didnt work for me :(

flush the spare out first. there is a way of testing by checking how long a certain amount of water takes to pass though but i,m not sure you can do this a home but a rad repair place should be able to test it before you fit it.

I used a Halfords own 2 bottle flush on White16valver's and it worked very well.

be prepared to change water pumps etc after rad flush chemicals.

Heater matrix, pull the hose's off and pressure wash through the thing both ways.

A heater matrix does not make a car overheat.

The rad is probably blocked, good tip is when the fan kicks in the air it moves should be very fecking hot. If its not then the rad will bbe silted up.
