Whats everyone view on oil and redex?

So what does everyone think of redex? Is it a good idea to use on ma valver?

Also, im servicing the car this week, what oil is best?

I got my Competition plug and lead kit from BB this week, so it will get its service it needs, and mot this week too...

only problem is the other night at our local cruise i accidently went up a curb at 35mph head on on the passenger side. One flatspot on the 17s. (who cares? Willy wheels on this week!!)

and one lower cv joint cracked. MOT due in 3 days. FUN! :/

avoid redex like it was death himself.

totally rapes your engine and goes for a fag after.
    use forté, its much better!

Sorry to hijack the thread but what about STP anyone used that ???

i have used redex which didnt seem to do much and Forte which obviously cleaned it from all the black shite that came out the back

just wondering if anyone had used the STP stuff?

Both times I've used Redex on two different Clios, a fuel hose has sprung a leak at a joint. Dunno if its coincidence tho.

I've tried 10K Boost on another car before and it seemed to run a bit quieter afterwards.

TBH I don't think any of them really have any more than a placebo effect.
The only way to test them would be to use a different engine in similar condition for each one and disassemble the engine after each use to check, and no one's gonna do that are they.

IMO the only REAL way to clean your engine is the hard way - take the head off, clean the piston crowns, and lap in the valves.
