    Coilover fitting help

Ok im a little confused and just wanted to check i was assembling my coilovers correctly so i can have a go at fitting them tomorrow. There H&R coilovers and are going on to my williams. I bought a new top mount kit from renault and have just had a go at putting them together. So is this correct?

    General layout

Top of spring and spring plate

Next the bearing is placed on top

    Followed by the mounting rubber

The strut is then installed and the top rubber mount is screwed down from under the bonnet

    Is there anything missing?

I also have two nuts that can be seen in the first picture one came with the coilovers and one with the top mount kit from renault. Do i need both? where exactly do they go?

    Thanks adi

Ok think i have most of it sorted after looking at the haynes manual and renault dialogys.

The one thing im unsure about is there seems to be two different options for the retaining clip and spacer. One uses a clip with a 45degree chamfered spacer and the other uses a non chamfered spacer and a nut. Which one will i need to use with my coilovers?

I already have the kit labelled 12 although they must have changed the rubber mount design as it looks more like parts 4 and 5 joined together. This kit comes with the nut so im guessing i just need the spacer labelled 6.

    Confusing myself more now

    Thanks Adi

ur right upto the dognut rubber, on top of that should go a little metal spacer that slots into the top of the rubber then you use one of the two nuts u have supplied to hold the strut together once you have compressed the springs. when you release the spring compressors the little nut takes the strain and you have a complete strut to insert into the tower on the car. then like u said pop the top nut on from under the bonnet!

Dont do it like me and put the bearing in the wrong place, your power steering pump wont like turning the wheels under the weight of the engine.

    Fixed now :P
