    Issue With 16V/Willy Dials

    Hey Guys!!

Ive just swapped over my 16V dials to the Williams Blue Dials Yesterday.
I swapped the whole units instead of just the dial faces.

My Williams Hybrid with the 16V dials did 82MPH in 5th at 4000rpm.
My Williams Hybrid with the willy dials does 78MPH in 5th at 4000rpm.

Im just wondering which is more accurate or "correct".

Im slightly concerned that the rev counter is dodgy on the willy dials too cos i was driving at 65mph in 5th and the revs were hanging at 2500 for a time and when I accelerated they wouldnt increase on the dials.
After a minute or so it went back to normal and shot up to 3500rpm-ish which is more accurate. Its only done this once.

Just wondering if you a) had any ideas whats wrong with the rev counter and b) which of the above speeds is more accurate - dont wanna get 3 more points and get banned! lol

had the same problem when i changed mine, not had a problem with cameras tho. i think it must be down to 5th gear ratios being different on the willy-valver box

the rev counter problem could be due to the motor that moves the needle not working properly.....i had 2 change this on mine

the speedo could be just down 2 the needle being positioned slightly diferently on the clock.....dus the neelde sit at the same place as the 16v clocks when ur stationary?

I'd say the rev counter is dodgy mate..I've just had to swap mine as it was reading low revs like yours.

What did you swap over matey?
Was it just the unit/motor at the back of the rev counter or did you swap the whole thing?

What exactly did you swap sorry, just the motor at the back or did you swap over the chipboard with the red and black wire going to it aswell?

Im trying to take the motor off but im havinga great deal of difficulty doing it without damaging the dial faces cos there a screw under them ya need to get to...

    Cheers

Cheers Mate! Ive done it now, works fine. I thought Id messed it up taking the needles off taking the motor below 0 but it seems fine.
Idles at 850-900, more to 900 which seems fine.
And 4000rpm in 5th is 82MPH, as it was before, where it was 78MPH with the old motor.
