    Launching a williams

    how? lol, i'm not an arse and would call myself a reasonably fantastic driver ( :D ) but i can't get a good start in the willy - its was piss in the valver but I need help!!

    what do you chaps do?

    I'm on pretty much new goodyear eagle f1's on standard engine and ecu so by the time i've actually got going i'm bouncing off the limiter and all is not going well lol...

    Explain!!

    For most cars in a straight line drag, this is what I do:
    - Don't wear watch or rings on your gear hand.
    - Get out of 1st gear ASAP as it doesn't translate much into forward motion.
    - I usually dump the clutch between 4k to 5.5k but it depends on traction and torque characteristics.
    But am no expert on straight runs (not my cuppa tea); the speed merchants here may have better ideas.

    most folk launch at just over 2 grand dont want wheel spin

    dont just plant your right foot if it starts to spin ease off

    no point just keepping it planted
