    Rolling Road figures

When i recently bought my Williams, i found a rolling road printout for it. The max reading on the graph was 130, and then there was a hand written note next to it saying, 27.5 lost through transmission, total 157 bhp. Does this sound about right? How do they calculate the amount of power lost? I've never had a printout before so not sure how to read it.

They generally use a figure of add 20% to the figure at the wheels.

So 20% onto 130 would be 156bhp, so thats probably about right. Bit higher than i thought it would be actually. As far as i know, all it's got performance wise is a s/s exhaust (still not sure what make!) and a K&N 57i Kit (which i thought may have lost it an odd horse or two?)

figures vary so much even on the same RR, your better off findind someone with a similar car (off this site should do it) and have some in gear comparisons from high, mid and low revs in 2nd gear and above. that will basically tell you how well your car is running as we use 2 lives car in the NW as the benchmark, if it takes his 3 instead of 2 split seconds to pass you then it's running well

LOL @ Jesus... 130 atw sounds about right fella but as jesus says different rolling roads give different results. At the last RE Rolling Road day the williams made 128, 129, 131 & 139 bhp with 2live's beast running up the 139 bhp figure. IIRC

Well cheers for that, sounds about right then. I was a bit unsure about the hand-written note making it from 130 upto 157 but thats put my mind at ease. Think i might take it somewhere and have it set up soon though as i still dont think it's quite right, still having problems pulling away from my girlf in her 206

What has 2live done to his then ? Mine made 142bhp at the wheels with only exhaust and decat , chip and filter. :D

On the other hand its possible that mines never been near a rolling road and I'm talking complete bollocks.

Mine made 1001 BHP with just a filter, zorst, manifold, powerboost valve and transplanted turbocharged F1 engine.

RE's results are pretty random too tho, Jon's car made over 150+ ATW with no remap... but the last one he got at 139 ATW it was still faster than the 150+ on the graph for both peak power and torque...

Yeah, pretty weird that....oh and Monkeys ran 6bhp less on that rolling road day too. Goes to show not to take the results as gospel really.
