The anti corrosion measures for the rear arches were enhanced on the phase 2 Williams (like all phase 2 Clios). :D

could explain my mint rear arches and some of the Willy 1 arches i've seen. I heard it was a problem with the pads they used inside the rear arches retaining moisture that causes the rust? Not sure what the pads are there for though
does the anti corrosion warranty only apply to original owner?
I would imagine that the 8 year anti-corrosion warranty applies to the car rather than the owner, just like the usual 3 year warranty that covers the rest of the car
Could also explain why phase 1's are faster...they've none of that anti corrosion rubbish weighing them down...

well it still didn't make much difference!
my phase2 had a little surface rust, and a tiny bubble on the n/s arch and my mate who does all my body work said there was loads of moisture inside.
ended up having to cut it all out and weld a plate in.......
