I remember Bighp and his car for sale. I used to drool after that thing :)
There are a few owners of very nice Williams's that have seemed to vanish...
and most are of no great loss ;)
Whatever happened to Gunner?
hes living just up the road from me mate. still got his hairdressers car ;), he was round here the other night actually.
I am still alive!
More importantly, so is my tropical Clio Williams. It must be about 3 years since I last wrung the car out. These days, like myself, it's been having a quiet retirement. It/we only go out for a brief exercise once in a while. Am still waiting for the day to PM matbrown that big list of parts that I promised the old girl :-)
I don't look in here these days, but PM should still reach me, if anyone wants to get me.
Still about, bought a house and married now, car is still in the garage, even if it is SORNED, will drive her again one day.
Time is a major issue now, as is money, they wife doesn't see the appeal of spending money on the clio......odd that lol
lol, house n missus = clio death
got it all next year, bye bye boost :-(
She even dared to suggest that i sell the clio, i politly declined, and sold the cams to keep her quiet lol
You lot obviously pick the wrong women!
Or i picked the right one!
I'm still here - which is a shame :D
Price? :DQuote:

:shock:Quote:

Keep an eye out for farms - they usually come with a selection of barns and outbuildings that can be ideal for storing cars/workshops, etc!Quote:

Bought my 16v in 2003ish, sold it to BRUN in 2005ish.
Think my last reno was in 2009 but now i've got old and bought my 4th ford mondeo.
Right enough though, when i've checked the recent post list a lot of the familar names have gone.
I've now got a Nissan Navara for work, its VERY different to driving the clio lol
Nice - a Navara will certainly be handy for the snow! :)
Also when i said "old" i'm still keeping it real with the mods despite it being a 2.0 TDCI "tractor";
- Airtec intercooler, Forge silicon hoses, Decat and Tuning box.
Going in shortly to be dropped 50mm on a Bilstein/PI combo as well! 8)
60+ its as quick as my valver was so a good substite imo...
nice to see some old faces replying on here :D
Don't get much older than me!
ehem..I've gotta be the eldest :?:
But you know what they say..your as old as the woman you feel!
So that makes me 27 :P
Martin was another legend. Winston is in the german scene, Laine is still around in a 172 cup, as is JayS with his award winning (2007?) Hybrid and Bass Direct has a Turbo Clio. I have their cars in from time to time.
I can't see me being too detached from the Mk1's in the foreseeable future, I'm looking after a fleet of them :D
I still have my 16v Clio that I bought in 2006 which gets used occasionally. It's been reverted back to a standard car now.

Found it on google this morning. Should be a sticky  Aghh how much I've missed!
I was referring to length on the site.Quote:

I'm enjoying the 172 beginning to give me all the niggles the mk1's used to do - oh the joy of changing window motors!
I left because I don't like ANY of you
Sorry....Quote:

Ah!!!! the good old days
I still remember the first NW meet very well
As most would have guessed I moved on to the VW scene. Ive got a Mk1 Scirocco with a 1.3 turbo... using a Renualt 5 turbo & carb
I still keep my eye on the Mk1 scene, who knows I might return one day.....
Save the edit button FFS!!!
The southport, martins way meet. drive out etc
Malta here, Willy's doing fine don't have as much time as i'd like on here but ask the odd question here and there. :)

Like Winston I moved to VAG .. Sold the clio hybrid and bought a vx220, then moved on to an Audi TT.
The Williams spec Hybrid I built still remains the the most fun car I have owned, and naturally the NW meets were quality, with some hardcore driving. One picture that sticks in my head is Winston lifting his hybrid off the ground with all four wheels, and the biker pulling a wheelie past martin at some crazy speed... and of course the freakishly quick no 51 owned by 2live.
good to see the loyal owners are still on here going strong.
Adios
you sure your not mixing 51 and 159 up??? 51 was the bodied one we were playin with scoobs on our private test track ;) 159 was the 1 we went to the meets in.
some quality meets back then tho. cat n fiddle, snake pass, martins run, mine, all over top roads twisty, techy stuff. the williams at home lol.
shame nowt like that happens any more. kinda killed the 'club' feeling for me tbh. now seems more a meet up at a trackday in 3 months then again in another 3. not like the monthly meets we used to have. and use the website, for some members, to spam, create grief n trouble causing basically.
