The time has come to sell my beloved Mk1 Phase2 Naples Red Clio 16v.

1994 M Reg
Just under 87,000 miles, cambelt changed last year at 81,500 miles.
Service book stamped up until 60k, every M.O.T. from new.
Current M.O.T. until september this year, 5 months tax left.
15" Borbet C alloy wheels, All tyres have good tread.
Magnex Stainless Steel Exhaust, K&N induction kit.
Sparco strut brace.
Smoked side repeaters, lockwood sill protectors with 16v lettering on them.
Lowered approximately 40mm all round, doesn't rub on the rear, only slightly rubs on full lock on the front.
Electric windows, and mirrors, electric sunroof with two retractable sun blinds, sunroof does NOT leak either

Very good condition interior with hardly a mark on it. Sony X-plode cd player, with jbl door speekers, and jbl 6x9's on the rear parcel shelf.
Polished phase 1 steering wheel.

Engine runs sweet as a nut, ticks over smoothly just as it should, gearchange is also nice and smooth. Doesn't overheat, auto fan kicks in when it should do. Has been very rleiable in the 9 months of ownership and has never let me down, starts first time every morning aswell.

Remote central locking with Toad alarm/immobiliser, arms itself if you fail to lock the car within around 2 minutes.

Not so great bits:
Exterior is in very good condition for its age, however there are a few of the usual supermarket carpark dings. Rear passenger side arch has a bit of rust on the arch and the sill, also a bit of rust in the usual place inside the tailgate around the drainage holes. Small stonechips on bumper and bonnet as usual.
The lights on the heater controls don't light up at night - probably just a buld.
There is an occasional knock within the drivers side arch, i suspect it may be a bottom suspension ball joint which are only £12 from BB performance.
Rear wiper works but the washer jet doesn't, i suspect the pipe is blocked/disconnected somewhere along the way.
Front fog lights dont work, they may just be disconnected.
Offers around £2500.
Think thats all for now, based in Derbyshire, 5 minutes from jct28 of the M1. Open to very near offers. Think thats all for now, if there's anything else i think of i'll add it on later. :)
Only selling as it's time for a Williams

tbh 2.5k is steep for a valver on 80 odd thousand mint or not, your car and your price i know but i think you may be disappointed with the price you will get for her in the end, i hope i am proved wrong cos that then means the price of my car has just gone up and i may have to sell it in the summer so good news all round if you do :D

Scott-16v!
24-03-2006, 19:34
i know what you're saying matey, realistically i expect to get around £2-2.2k for it. However i've put it up for more so that people can knock me down to that price, if i put it up at round £2k then people would want another few hundred knocking off that. :)
It's in my local free ads paper tomorrow so hopefully a few people might be interested.

Rich
24-03-2006, 21:33
the proposed 'mint' white 16v that is being sold on CS '3 inch long scratch on the passenger rear wing that has been touched in well which you wouldn't notice was there unless i told you, No rusty arches, very light dent in the passenger door that dentmaster would get out easily, and a couple of little marks on the front bumper again that have been touched up well, apart from that is really nice
so its not THAT nice if you get me, we all value our cars at different prices, i agree the price is high but he has justified why he is high so if he gets brought down its not as much of a blow, i too said the price was high but why go sick about it??

I was in talks with someone to group buy a shared owned trackday weapon.

No point if it needs restoration at £2.5k though...

so hence pics needed....

Zollo

Seems a bit pointless even asking about it if you're after a track car tbh mate.

hip_spasm
25-03-2006, 00:44
want a relatively nice one mate...205 or a valver....cant decide!

Thats why I want to know about the rust...if I can poke my finger through it then its not good...track car or not!

Scott-16v!
25-03-2006, 00:57
keep the thread relatively tidy please lads
you can't poke your finger through, ive found a pic showing it, was taken in december and hasn't got worse since

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3/scott1987/Washed/r5re.jpg
imagine the rear wheel is a clock and the hands are at 10 to 10, the rust sn in that area, you can see the slight bubbling on the sill aswell.

tbh i'd rather it wasn't stripped and abused as a track car, its way better than that imo. would be shame to ruin it.

Gav
25-03-2006, 13:34
the rust isnt bad at all imo and ive seen it close up
only surface rust by the looks of things

Scott-16v!
27-03-2006, 15:41
yep just surface rust.

Scott-16v!
02-04-2006, 21:27
