had the battery checked, alternator, new battery terminals instead of the crappy plastic ones. before anybody asks - the boot light goes out !
im now scratching my head as to whats taking the juice.
alarm?
car radio? (it makes a loud 'pop' when its turned on, never had a car
stereo that did that).
sort out the earthing from the battery.
as for the pop shit ones do this, my ms used to have a cd player that done the same.
Come to think of it her sony (possibly the worst head units in the world) will do it on occasion.
have you done any work on the car that would cause this fault to suddlenly start ?

its been like that since i bought it, previous owner told me.
my current option is to get the battery hooked up to a couple of gauges to see how much charge is in, and how much current is being pulled. that way, i can play with various things to try and nail the problem.
i bought myself a portable battery jump starter/compressor from halfords at xmas. its proved to be invaluable. on a couple of occasions now, ive managed to get my car started within 5 minutes. no need for jump leads and another car (which is a pain in the arse).
