1995/M Renault Clio Williams 2: Finished in superb Sports Blue with Ash Grey sports velour with the Williams Blue plush carpets, seatbelts and dials. This is my 4th Williams so by now I know exactly how a good one should drive, and this one is excellent in all respects...
Only 78,000 genuine miles with a FSH, HPI clear (with comprehensive AA HPI report) and a dossier of invoices. Only 3 former keepers. Like all my Williams, this one is factory standard, so thankfully it does without the slammed on its belly lowered suspension, no performance air filter to make it idle lumpily and no boyracer boombastic exhaust system! In short it is as lovely and original a specimen that the enthusiast could wish to chance upon.
Importantly it had the cambelt, tensioner and water pump replaced at a Renault Specialist at 69K which was 18 months ago. The mid and rear exhaust sections have been replaced with genuine Renault parts this year, as have the crank oil seal, front brake discs, front pads, rear brake discs, rear pads and brake lines, also the clutch cable. It has been maintained regardless of cost and this is reflected in the sweetness and smoothness of the engine... you'd be surprised just how refined and pleasant to drive the Clio Williams' are in factory, unmolested form.
It has a Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser system and also a disabled Tracker system installed (this could be re-activated by the new keeper if desired), it wears high performance Michelin Pilot Exalto tyres on all four wheels. The trademark gold Speedline alloy wheels themselves are in excellent condition too unusually. The suit carrier case still sits beneath the rear parcel shelf, it still has its original Philips radio/cassette RDS stereo, Williams Blue tailored over-mats, and another mark of originality is the "Elf Lubricants" sticker in the rear window.
The electric windows, remote central locking, electric mirrors, outside temperature gauge and all gauges work perfectly. The interior is immaculate with no wear, stains, burns or broken trim anywhere An original Renault Clio Williams sales brochure is included in the sale.
It has always been in regular use, which in my experience is preferable to one of those alledgedly super low-mileage Williams that occasionally crop up... under-used cars can be more hassle than you'd imagine! The keeper lavished much money and car on his pride and joy to keep it in superb condition, indeed he used very expensive Zymol polish on the bodywork which I wouldn't even buy for my Bentley... accordingly the paintwork has the deepest lustre of all the Renaults I have owned.
The only work I have overseen on this car is having both rear wheel arches professionally repaired and repainted - - a proper and lasting job with a flawless finish, renew the "Williams 2" decals and replace the original front fogs which had corroding lenses, with brand new items. The car has just been serviced and has a full MoT.
