View Full Version : De-cat
Finally got around to refitting my de-cat after my MOT yesterday (MOT was end of Oct, and cat was back on about a month before, so i've been without a de-cat for 3 months).
Can i just say **** ME!!
I had forgotten just how beafy it makes it sound and just how much better it pulls, was like being in a new car lol.
This isn't a plug to sell my de-cats.....honest i've only just thought of that.....buy a de-cat, £35 delivered
lol..... :D
mines all rusted n shit so i might just purchase one off you fella to go on my new magnex
The exhaust on my Williams is an incorrect fit. It doesn't marry up properly where the cat meets the downpipes. Don't know if it's off a regular 16v? Are they different? Suppose this de-cat would solve the problem? Cheers, Mark.
Not sure on what you mean, but my de-cats are a direct replacement for the std cat, so if you have a problem wiht the cat on there then you'll ahve the same prolbem with one of my de-cats on there, a 16v exhaust shoudl fit a williams though, unless it has a built in de-cat
so it will fit my magnex then fella yea?
Yup, direcxt replacement for the cat
lovin it...will wait till i get my magnex back from polishers then come round n get one off u fella
i do have a decat off lunner just got to fit it, hopefully this saturday i will!
finally fitted the decat, its deeper at idle now, but not to deep/loud, when driving its actually pretty quiet, maybe to do with it having scorpion system, and i seem to have re-gained the top end power whcih i have been robbed off for months due to fecked decat before! :D
Nice one, glad you are happy :)

question.
does it effect fuel economy? and how long does it take to fit/remove ?
Ofcourse it will effect fuel economy - especially during the first few weeks when you can't help booting it everywhere just to hear the engine note change as you give it death....and searching for those back off pops n' bangs. :-)
Doesn't take long to change at all. Just 4 bolts, however those 4 bolts can be rusted like hell and may need heat and/or grinder to remove, which will increase your time spent swearing at a stupid bit of metal!!
as above yes it does affect fuel consumption, but if u drive steady its not so bad,
fitment is easy enough , 4bolts as anders said, luckily only 1 bolt was a bastard lol

It doesnt effect your fuel consumption too much, you will not even notice. The only thing that effects fuel consumtion is your right foot!
