View Full Version : HELP strange noises!
Ive just fitted an airbox to my clio (cheers martin) instead of the induction kit that was on there. and its all fine accept for if i give the car revs, from then on it makes kind of like a turky noise?
i wasn't able to plug in the 2 little pipes that go to the side because they didn't fit (not sure why? do i need like a bit of rubber that go's over the pipe and the bit on the airbox?)
anyone know what this could be ?

most turkeys do at this time of year : )
not too sure mate
there should be two pipes connected to the airbox (breathers) and one big main feed that runs around and stops behind the fog light.
You didnt accidentally fit a turkey in the airbox rather than a filter did you ?
yea i couldn't get the breather pipes in, they are like rubber .. then have a hard bit that pokes out and its the same size as the tube on the airbox, so they wont attach. is it going to do damage with out these attached? is this whats likely to make the noises?

can you warm the pipes up then slide them on ???
mite try that actually, ive just taken the car for a drive, so they should be warm now, or did you mean like lighter underneath jobbie?
I have been told that noise is the heater matrix due to blockages etc
those pipes shouldnt have a hard bit in them. My bet is that the previous owner has snapped the connections off the old airbox and left them in there. Can you pull them out and then try fitting the box

spot on m8, just figured this all out outside only to come back and read it lol!
what he had done, was cut off the old ones of the old airbox, drill two holes in the induction kit, poke them through there and attached the pipes, but the bits of tube had got stuck in the pipes, and i just managed to get them out with a screw driver.
All running smoothly now, thanks
another case solved by moi :D
