got in my car today to come to work and needed some petrol, thought shall i leave it till morning but then realised i was abit early so decided to go.pulls off my estate.the road to station is long and straight and seemed all clear with no coppers in sight just a couple of cars up ahead, took 3rd n booted it, cars infront gettin near, still no coppers and road clear with oncoming traffic.up to around 70/80mph n went round these cars as pullin back to myside of the road, middle car of the 3 pulls out(this is a burgandy estate omega) as it gets closer to my rear end what did i notice, but flashin blue lights in the fuc***g grill, pulls over he pull behind.i get in his car n he asks if i know how fast i was goin and i replied about 50(bearing in mind this is a 40zone but should be 60).to my suprise he clocked me at 79mph.give me a bollockin and a producer and is reportin me for dangerous drivin.best thing is they wouldnt let me in for fuel cause tanker was there.what a tw*t :(
Gutted mate :(
Hope the outcome isn't too harsh.

theres a time and a place for spirited driving ... you dont want to be up on a dangerous driving charge... especially if your on in car video :-|
is there a clear point where speeding turns into dangerous driving ?? because, *touch wood* i don't think they mentioned dangerous driving to me ??

Probably fair to point out that this is in the most severe case. Subject to the Video(if one exists)...You may be lucky....Do your research and get a Good brief, Take a look at that "Speeding Site" and ask for some advice.
if ur just going fast n not interfereing of affecting other road users its speeding i think, but cuz of the overtaking at speed in a speed controlled zone it endangers them n as such is dangerous driving.
am gutted for you boys, ti does happen fast, i got my 1st 3 points to something silly like that n all.

yeah my 1st three points i got on the 1st day of owning my 1.2 RL :S
gutted for you man :S
I try and keep the speeds down around town tho and in built up areas, although i will had to admit i tent to speed on motorways
79 in a 40 but i would be amazed if u got community service for it. ur looking at a ban with a massive fine imo
in my opinion your definetely looking at ban fella. :(
:? dam dude feel sorry for ya, i must say ive broken speed limits like that b4, 90 in a 40, only once tho thankfully not been caught, but now my clio is gonna be brand new underneith and under the bonnet im only gonna rag it on deserted straights and track...not worth it IMO, hope u just get a slap on the wrist tho mate

It's not about speeding its about the dangerous driving allegation but yeah generally if you have job/money it will be a fine..

But if you have plenty coin they will most likely shove a higher ban/community punishment on ya!
I know me and martin been down this road... its not fun i can tell ya!
Although speed does not constitute "dangerous driving", even without proof of Reckless or Dangerous actions you still could get bummed with a DD10 - Driving at Dangerous Speed! Also a DD10 Stays on your licence for 11 years/DD40 only 4!

Unlucky fella :(
Dangerous driving is very hard to prove. Police need multiple statements etc from witnesses who were 'endangered' by your driving. Sounds as if its only the speed that he was concerned with (unless you did something else even more silly you havent mentioned! ). The CPS would probally go for undue care at court, rather than dangerous, which normally means 6 points. Only problem is, on the speed front, 79 in a 40, that could be a short ban on its own :(
i always thought 2 get banned just for speeding ( unless u build up points over seperate occasions) you need 2 be doin double the speed limit. now i kno its only 1mph under double but the FACT is its not double!
as for dangarous driving, dont see how he can do you for overtaking? unless there were signs stating not 2 or the white lines down the centre of the road were solid and not broken? go back and check if i was u!
am i right in sayin this gunner???
No its not double. For example, 74 in a 50 could be a ban ( so be careful through m.way roadworks!), but at the end of the day its up to the magastrates discretion what penalty you get.

its wasnt a built up area n u could overtake so i might just get due care which is usually a fine and points but end of the day its up to mags what i get if it gets that far
