help me with my valver , Calling 2live, Winston, Gunner etc.

Hello Guys, Just about to pick up my new valver and it has a problem or two...

It doesnt accelerate like it should and it tops out at 90mph. The owner tells me it should be the head gasket needing replacing?

any ideas? nothing too expensive i hope, i just want it to run decent for a month or two till i transfer my hybrid engine into it!

iirc headgasket change is about £400ish

u should be able to get it done for half that at a decent small garage mate. had one done on an old clio and it wasnt much more than £200

check the throttle is opening fully !

i remember wen i pickd my willy up it topd out at around 75 :shock:

then i had it serviced ( changed plugs etc ) n it was much betta! :D

mine topped out at a similar speed when it was running on 3 cylinders...(water in the plug holes)

thats my worry that I have lost compression in one of the cylinders.

Will find out for sure tomorrow when it goes into Renault

compression and leakdown test will tell you all you need to know.

Right I got mine back from Renault and they say my new fuel pump is broken already so it needs another one.

But JonnyK I did speed check it down the motorway and it wouldnt go past 93mph no matter how hard I tried.

So it will be worth getting your pump checked out.
