65k seems to be the sweet spot for engine mileage, in terms of performance. On the Williams that is.
williams 3
93k frsh every stamp from renault dealer, but last stamp when i bought the car was done at bb's who now do all my servicing
Valver
85k......now with 62k willy 3 engine
FRSH.....Till i got my mits on it
84k with a patchy history consisting of invoices and previous owners notes. Didn't get a service book (or manual) with it. :(
84k have only got last 4 year of service receipts etc no service book last owner lost it, have a satack of reciepts for mine from what ive done, on its 3rd service since i got it a year ago
Silver Williams
52k on clocks 114k on everything but interior!
Service history till about 60k and then reciepts etc for the rest! Fully serviced by me now!
KS, 0200 that has done 142,000, have you had a new engine if so when, if no what have you had done to it?.
I thought mine had done 79,000 miles, but have really checked paperwork, could be 125,000. the previous owner and I are in discussion  The car has definitely been clocked.
Feel a bit of a dickhead, to trusting I guess, trouble is the insides are clean and it runs well, keep you posted not very happy with myself!!

Good luck. Get a good solicitor, lol.
Mine had a complete rebuild 500 miles ago :D
Did you pay top money for it Nick? Dealer / private?
A trip to solicitors in order I feel.

If its been clocked by a dealer i would say they could be in big trouble (depending on French law, if thats where you bought it)
now reluctantly turned to 78,000 on mine. Bought it on 69,000
Thats the engine mileage though...I imagine the car has done 120k+!

Paid alot, secondhand cars in france are 30% more than in UK, bought privately. Not sure whether to ask for money back or keep car get sizable refund.
Play it by ear, trust me! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE IN THIS LIFE OR THE NEXT. More annoyed with myself than him, actually thats bollocks. KS said something in a earlier thread about take a good look a the seller, should have listened to alarm bells. I,m 42 and a man of the world, oh and a F****N impatient must have it now T**T   :(
Most people are when they've got a pocket full of cash and are viewing something they've set there heart on buying. Your not the first and won't be the last. Mileage isn't so important. As long as your happy with the car then enjoy.
Oh and make sure you get your revenge
bought mine on 55k 3 years ago......now on 88k ish...but last 12k of those were on the rebuilt megane engine
FRSH up til i bought it......2 live tuned n maintained since.....not aresd bout how this looks on resale value cos i dont intend on selling.....but if i ever did sell...1 look at the bodywork, and a ride in it.....itd sell lol................
have listened to alarm bells. I,m 42 and a man of the world, oh and a F****N impatient must have it now T**T   :(
If it's any consolation, that sounds familiar to me too. My downfall was an Uno Turbo some years ago - felt fantastic during the test drive. But cost me close to 2000 pounds to keep it running for the 8 months that I owned it.
In your shoes, I would keep the Clio and try to get a refund. And use the refund to take the car back to good running condition. Once that is done, with regular and fairly fastidious maintenance, the Clio can go a very long way.
