I would take it off and put a panel filter in, but i love the noise :D I reckon and ik can be better than a panel filter though if its routed properly with a good cold air feed. Mine flys when its cool out.

thats coz i dislocated my leg
yo winston, see on ur last pic that little pink wire in the top of the wheel arch? whats it sposed to be connected to cuz mines been chopped n ....well to be honest i just wanna know! lovin the induction kit mate! home made i presume?!!!! that a bit of tumble drier pipin!hehe!
Coops
You've replaced the original induction with exactly the same length of piping? Won't that make no difference at all, and look ugly as well?
The pink wire is for the 'low brake pad' warning light. IMO they just break and cause problems anyway.

winston thats an awsome idea, where did u get the pipin and the sok to do it???
did it make any difference??
No hte length of piping affects the amount of torque the engine has, IIRC a compnay developed one for a VTS that had a 1 mtr length of pipe as that gave the most torque.
Its that long to get it away fromt eh engine and sucking uop cold air instead of power sapping hot air, wehile giving the advantages of the freeer flowing, larger sirface area cone filter, as opposed to the standard panal filter./
Mine is relocated to a similar position, and believe me you defo notice the difference, esp in the small, hot clio engine bay

THE SMALL FILTER IS THAT A CRANKCASE FILTER??

THE SMALL FILTER IS THAT A CRANKCASE FILTER??
Yes
Now thats an induction kit!! Shame the clio's enigne bay is so cramped that you have to molest bits of the body to fit any really wild mods. Is it all hidden nicely with the bonnet closed?

look at that professionally fitted gearbox lol.
best induction kit is the Dong... you should patent it....
I would take it off and put a panel filter in, but i love the noise :D I reckon and ik can be better than a panel filter though if its routed properly with a good cold air feed. Mine flys when its cool out.
Same as!!!
Does seem to go well in the cold though!!!
Oh and i have KnN, very loud indeed!!!
Induction kits are crap on valvers unless relocated. Here's a pic of my bay with a rather large pipercross:-

It now running a modded airbox with a nice fat airfeed to the front blanking plate and with a Ramair panel filter:

loving engine bay one of the cleanest i have ever seen love the choice of colours etc
(sorry to go of subject)
yea very clean most of the gear looks new :D
its like a spot the difference puzzle! answer one the air box!!!answer two, right hand fixing screw for f16i.e. panel!!lol! :D
answer 3 the manifold. pic 1 - cast manifold painted. pic 2 - supersprint manifold. :D
Tom did you notice much difference going back to the OE airbox ?
I had a piper-x like tom's when i bought mine, and went back to the OE airbox. much better IMO. pulled better, and much nicer tone. hatted the loud as fook drone with with the piper-x.
U notice difference tom?
Yes mate.
With a open i/k it effects the most low down in the rev range they seem to make the car bog and doesnt pull well at all.
The standard airbox is by far the best option
Oh and cheers for the comments on the bay people! :D
i rang around a few places today and all of them said the inductions kits produce the most power
rang BB because they have their own rollers and he said from what he has seen for power the induction kits produce the most
hmmm
They might very well do but when they are on the RR they have the bonnet open and a nice big fan blowing on the fecker! lol
They make more money if you buy a i/k dont they!
Still i have that piperx one you can have off me cheap! 8)
fan there for a reason to cool the car while it is doing 90 on the rollers
plus it simulates the air coming in from you driving along
Well make your own mind. I've made mine and i would personally never fit an i/k to my car. Just test for yourselfs. :D
a fan has to be used to cool your car yes but driving down a road isnt the same as having a fan pointed straight to your airfilter. With the bonnet closed the temps of the air tend to be hotter.
Tom, that Pipercross you took off, did it have any kind of cold air feed ?
i will have to post up pics of my forced induction, it has the inner light removed on the passenger side quad and a direct cold feed to the viper, at the last meet i got some people to stick their hand in the inner light and it was sucking like a good un. works a treat and i have yet to take it out on a cold day, i cant wait!

the dong is the most cost effective option in my opinion... ducting and a cheap budget filter.
do you drive around with you bonnet open for maximum power????
erm no
i think nick read cracked it with his turbo design.
