Members - Williamsclio is proud to announce that we have made it to celebrate our 1st birthday online.
I wish to thank everyone who has helped progress the site from a small forum into the national club it is now. Cheers Guys it’s a great feeling when I log on and see 20plus forum users.
For those who do not know – Fatboy first set up williamsclio in late August / early September 2004. Williamsclio.co.uk should have originally been cliowilliams.co.uk but as ever his 5th bottle of Stella wasn’t far off being downed, and the name stuck.
The remaining months of 2004 was a quite year with a handful of regular users, and with only a forum, things progressed well with relatively little experience into early 2005 with northy becoming a moderator and then an administrator. Forum users helped williamsclio progress when they surprisingly offered to pay for site memberships that were invested back in the site.
As we reached our bandwidth with our original provider, we made the decision to take williamsclio offline in late February 2005 and revamp the site and move to firestarter media group. I unfortunately didn’t keep a snap shot of the old williamsclio to post up. (If anyone has one can you post one for me)
In the weeks we were down, we took the opportunity to develop the forum into a site and club. It was at this stage that northy took over the running of williamsclio as Fatboy couldn’t commit the time needed.
With our 1st national meet (The French car show) fast approaching we needed the changes to increase our members, promote the club and progress the site.
It was at this time that northy created the club image we have now. The site logos, banners, flyers, club stickers and website transfers we all completed within a hectic few months. So hectic infact as the club banner was collected very late the night before our 1st show.
Stage one of developing williamsclio was now complete and still in place to date.
In a few weeks williamsclio is going to be revamped again as stage two is to be competed.
We have an updated colour scheme, new members area, register, member’s map, meetings and events area, shop, events calendar plus DIY guides.
These changes will hopefully see williamsclio running successfully into the forthcoming years.
Once again I wish to thank everyone who has helped us with the site. Without you there wouldn’t be a williamsclio.
