Hi. Just joined and looking for a bit of info. Just found car 248 and purchased it from a customer of mine. Not in the best condition and been stood in a unit for about 6 years. Looks like it needs a bit of tlc. Anybody any ideas on value?

ive just purchased number 248 and want to get it on the road. can anyone tell me if it has ever had a plate change as the current one L940 RST dates back to 1999 ive got here in some history. I also have a tax disc of 2006 with the same reg on and 2 print offs of mot in 2009 with 65,514 miles and in 2013 with 65,526.
the tax discs all have manchester on them on the post office stamp. so if anyone could get in touch with history on the vehicle or where it was mot'd etc as i need proof to get it on the road for dvla. as they are saying they cannot find that registration number on it. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Northy i've got to apply for a log bog and dvla want to issue it on a q plate which im gathering evidence to them due to it being of the road for so long that it is the Williams 1 248 shell etc etc and is what it it;s supposed to be. Ive done all the checks and matched everything up and have proof of reg at date of first registration linked to recent mot's now in accordance to the vin number so all is looking hopeful fingers crossed. Just need to take few more pics of the car and all the paperwork ive got and gathered so far. The shell and interior date build stamps are correct so no reason now why it can't be put back on the l reg plate. Im just in the process of talking and providing the evidence to renault so I can get authenticity of the vehicle hopefully so my case is stronger. thanks

To Anthony and Northy. Anthony it was me who bought it from you I think do you race clio 182 and 172's? You was going to race it but decided not to? Anyway I've reopened the case for a 2nd time as since my first effort the requirements have now changed you only need 3 things and in my case original engine, gearbox and chassis. You can have suspension and other things but I proved these things as got the numbers for engine and gearbox plus after providing Renault UK Pictures of those numbers and my car etc they gave me a letter of authenticity. I've had a DVLA inspector ok it and say it's original which DVLA sent themselves which they didn't believe so why send him. So I got my own vehicle Police inspector to come and acid test the grun off strut and he could find no other vin underneath and checked the car and ok's it as original and he was 1 of only 2 left in the country that does this job in his 50's well experience in road traffic incidents and car thefts. The original vin plate is still riveted to the car. The car has been on the road after released from Manchester Police had it on the original L and got tax discs to prove plus MOT history. I have sent all this information and more to prove it's original original dash with plaque etc etc. Now my last letter come today says refused again ad the Manchester police report says it's been extensively rebuilt using an unidentified chassis which I do not believe and does not have the original engine which is a lie as I have it here as proof that it is. They said the original vin had been grun off and stamped with a false one. Grun off yes as it's been nicked. I cannot understand why the person who stole it would then stamp the vin back on? Does not make sense. I do not know the length of time between stolen and Police inspected it. If a long time could of been stripped and stored in different places then reassembled at a later date to explain that theory but all parts are Williams 1. Like I said even the original vin plate is still riveted to the car. I think Manchester Police have cocked up because they do not know what they are on about and enough about a Williams 1. I'm dealing with the very top of kits and rebuilds now Darren Carpenter to sort this out. They wouldn't even go off their own site saying it only needs those 3 things to qualify. Right joke system it is. I will win I'll take it to court if I have to to prove a point after a vehicle ombudsman if he or she can't solve it. Many thanks all for your input. Most appreciated!

Northy how old was the pictures date wise please you posted above. Must of been before it was stolen but saying that the car in storage in other pics look different to what I bought. He swapped the wheels which I think I remember him saying. The rear spoiler is taped on but it's been changed as got another in the boot different style. I'll have to compare pics in daylight. I just need to know if your pics were before or after 2008 when it was stolen.Cheers.
