View Full Version : Slight wheel bearing issue

This started when I was changing the front discs...

On the drivers side, both disc screws had previously had their heads drilled off, leaving the rest of the screws in the hub. I know this isn't a big problem but I wanted the disc held on by at least one screw!

Anyway, so I could drill out the screws and re-tap the holes, I decided to take the hub off when this happened...

Any advice on getting the remains of the bearing out of the stub axle/off the hub? (besides cutting them off!)

Thanks,
Baz

Cutting is going to be your only option unfortunately, just need to be really careful to not cut into the hub flange

Any makes of wheel bearing that are half decent?

Or is it best to stick with RPD?

Don't bother with Renault, you want SKF bearings from ebay :winkey:

If you go to Renault, you pay double the price & what you get is an SKF bearing in a Renault box

you should be able to pull the rest of that bearing off with one of these https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cht253-mechanical-bearing-separator-/
