just recently my power steering pump has got really noisy when turning corners, is it rite that when pulling out of a parking space for example there is more pressure on it because of the weight? so its noisy, where as when ur driving its less pressure? so less noise?
think so mate
mine is making weeizing noises now as well...

one thing after another, but now got a beauty hopefully i can do meets
yeah i think that's true about there being more pressure and stress on the pump when there's less speed.
Mine squeeked for ages but dissapeared when i got my track rod end changed and tracking sorted... i think this was putting even more pressure on the pump, thus squeeking like a bitch
I think changing the pump is a bit of a mission
There is additive you can put into the power steering fluid which eradicates and squeaks/wheezing noises apparantly, can't remember the name tho! Otherwise you could try putting some fresh fluid in there??

Had mine drained and re-done with Slick 50. The problem has returned.

If your getting some of this stop leak Northy put me down for some please :P
mine is noisy, but i thought that it was just a characterisitc of the car as every valver/willy ive been in makes a fair bit of noise from power steering, esp when turning the wheel when stationary. or are u talking abt excessive noise.
If your getting some of this stop leak Northy put me down for some please :P
im going to change mine with fresh renault rob. will do yours aswell if u fancy.
tbh - when i get my cams in i will get it changed to a new pump. If i see any lucas gubbins i will buy u some mate.

You could probably do the pump without taking the radiator out but it makes it a lot easier.
Need to remove bonnet and alternator definetley though.
See ya
