Hey,

my my heater blower has decided to pack up. The switch still clicks on every turn and there is hot air coming out the vents when I drive, but there is just no fan!
Ive read loads of threads on here and just had a go myself. Took the scuttle thing off, then wipers, motor, covers etc. Then took blower out too. Also gave it a good Hoover! The fan wasn't stiff at all when I moved it with my fingers and the connector plugs all seem fine. Wiggles them to see if it would work.
what shall I do for the next step? Shall I just buy a new switch thingy or am I looking at a new fan?
thanks in advance, if anyone takes the time to reply!

cheers

wayne

Have you tried testing if the fan spins when you stick voltage onto it?

have you checked the Heater resistor in the top of the scuttle?

How easy are these to replace? I think mine may be gone but I with the summer looming I won't bother with it if I have to dismantle half the car

I haven't put voltage onto the fan. I will give that a go!
I looked at the heater resistor and it looked OK to me but I didn't really know what I was looking for! Lol!
Il have to wait for the rain to stop before I have another look now!

It took me about an hour today mate to take scuttle panel off, remove wipers, wiper motor and link arms, then remove the guard and fan. And I'm pretty shit with cars, but I give things a go! Ha ha!
if you know what you are doing it would prob be a 20 minute job! :winkey:

Just thought I'd finish the loop on this chat. I finally got around to looking at the fan problem today. Bought a new resistor and replaced it all in about 30 mins. It did the job! I now have a fan and heat!
Thanks again for everyone's help!
