Hi all , just trying to work out a future plan for my engine , i need a smooth idle, and standard emissions output or as near as poss , i can change injectors, but need to keep stock ecu after remapping.. wondering what catcams i could use for such effect? What projected bhp possible? this is because of stealth needs here in spain . thanks all

Piper 270 or Kent rn2002.

They are mild cams.
You would really need vernier cam pulleys with them also :)

What bhp could i expect to get with 270´s catcam pulleys ,green injectors(worthwhile still?) and a kj16v remap anyone? would catcam 225 be too lumpy? looking for a smooth all through the revs kinda cam for use with gr.a intake.

I Have Piper 270 cams with vernier pulleys and hill power mapped ecu, very impressive power difference over stock, and idle is very smooth indeed

I had 270's and they where fairly lumpy with a remap and Verniers depends who dials the cams in, cliolord Is the man you wanna talk to

cheers guys great info! hmmm cams! i love lumpy idle ! but mr spanish mot man liketh not. hehe. i guess part of it will be timing aswell. yeah i heard cliolord is mr timing! you guys got some good renault guys there, what with beanie , danny , cliolord
, kj16 maps and all the rest i am starting to think a mallorca - uk summer visit mad mission might be in order sometime. although it might be cheaper to invite and pay some of you to holiday here!!

do 225´s benefit from green injectors ie +170 hp ? another question, would love a standalone, but if someone spots it, nastyy... how much of a limit is the stock ecu for mapping? or better said what benefit would there be fitting say a canems or omex , to a worked head, breathing mods and 225´s over a remapped stock ecu? anyone tried building an ecu which fits indside original one? they getting arsey here all of a sudden and desperate to fine anyone lol

In terms of power and performance, none whatsoever. The advantage pf standalone's like Omex and Canems is that they allow you to run the engine in "alpha-N" mode (calculating load via throttle opening and rpm, instead via a MAP sensor). Alpha-N allows you to run more aggressive cam setups with a fairly smooth idle.

wicked info cheers. i take it those cam vids they on standard management? i take it that 225´s and standalone and dialled in for smoothness, would achieve a smoother idle than 225 vid posted? thanks
