Hi anyonne know how to make sure cambelt tension is correct, all mr haynes has to say in my book is "Renault have a special tool" cheers in advance

You should just be able to twist it by 90' on the longest section.
Fire it up
If the belt comes off, it's too loose.
If the engine whines, it's too tight.
In all seriousness, if you took this advice you'd be an idiot :lol:

I have done two cambelt changes on mine in the last 18 months. The first one failed with drastic consequences due to being over tightened using the deflection under a specified load between the cam pullies.
The second one was tensioned using the sonic tool lent to me by my now defunct local Renault dealers, a doddle to use. You my be able to borrow one from your local motor factors.
