Its been a while but im back looking for a mint clio Williams /Williams 2.

Must be as original as possible with a strong engine, low mileage without rusty archs or badly restored wheels / wrong decals ;).

I have good money waiting and based in Devon. I wish I had never gotten rid of my Williams 2 in the first place![/img]

I am looking to sell my Williams. I bought it about 17 months ago and in that time have only done 600miles, hence selling it.

I bought it off someone who restored the shell - new arches, full interior out respray, refurbed wheels, 4 new michis - shell wise it's impeccable. It hasnt seen the wet in 3 years. It's on 119k - but drives well.

I have a folder full of receipts and willing to be flexible on price - I'd go mid 3's. It is currently SORN'd and MoT is up in May 2013. For a sale I'd be happy to put 12 months MoT and tax it - but, could go no lower than £3.5k - but, this is much less than your indicated budget.

I've posted a few pics below, I'll give you much more detail pics - however, before I do, I wanted to see if you would be interested?

I was put off by the term "respray" but it's in very good order and was done about 2.5 years ago now and there are no tell tale signs of a bad job - e.g filler sinking. Bodywork wise it's one of the best i have seen. It has a new scuttle, tailgate etc.

I have posted pics in the past - if you search my posts will see them

I'm on my iPad and when I get off it ill post some better pics

Mods wise, it has 3, a stainless steel exhaust (don't have the original), sabelt steering wheel, I'll replace this with the original & a CD player - again I have the original.

Just out of curiosity, why is Jamie's Williams not good enough?

I am sure there must be a few hidden gems out there still, Willy 1's and car collectors etc, but not many.

What exactly are you looking for? No paint? No Bodywork resto's? Etc?

Jamie's car is great but its a ten hour drive to where he lives. The belts are over due and don't fancy the risk of them breaking and stranding me half way up the country.

I don't mind if the car has had new paint or bodywork as long as the body work wasn't due to an accident and the paint has been done to a hi standard. I would love Jamie's car but the distance is a real issue.

Thanks for the comments guys, I spoke to Rich about the car and understand his concerns - seemed a really nice guy.

However, in terms of clarity - the belts aren't overdue. They were last done late 2008. 5 years isn't up for another 6 months - done little miles in that time. Granted the new owner may wish to change them, but, they're not "overdue". I think the price is also very competitive considering its condition.

I tend to think that the distance needed to travel to find a decent Williams is getting higher as they get scarcer but yes Tiverton to Aberdeen is a bit of a drag.

Maybe you could come to some arrangment.....:)

Ok thats fair enough but 10 hours is pretty extreme, one end of the country to the other. The cambelt is over due, if that went on the way back I will be out of pocket.

Jamie clearly states the cambelt is NOT overdue with 6 months left and if you take the low mileage involved.... no problemo:)

Sorry I didn't see Jamies comment and I for some reason got it in my head it was. Jamie is a top bloke and when I spoke to him over the phone was very helpful.

If you read this Jamie, sorry my bad. I have a few cars to look at this weekend as I'm also looking at Mk1 Golf's as well as Clio Williams but if they are a no go I will phone you again.

Jamie.

No worries mate - best of luck with your ongoing search. I understand concerns, and it is a risk when you've got to fly somewhere to see a car. Almost the time cost rather than the flight.

Apart from on here I haven't advertised the car elsewhere, so could push the sale a lot harder. In some ways I hope it doesn't sell.
