Do the generic eBay jobs work on the Williams? If so, where does it plug in to as I can't find anywhere on my car.
No they dont . Diagnostic plug is located in fuse box under glovebox has to be renault specific plug.
Like this?

I'm afraid of using a single R12 to OBDII cable or combination of R12 to OBDII and OBDII to USB adapters won't work. You have to use a special diagnostic cable/interface (R12 to USB adapter).
I'm now waiting for my R12/USB diagnostic cable, ordered from Chet T16 on www.retro-renault.com Not cheap but it works on the Williams (and XR25 PC software).

I'll let you know how it performs in my Williams (and Mk1 1.2) after I get it. XR25 PC has already been installed on my laptop, it works but I can do nothing without the cable.

I have the Renault Clip diagnostic tool if anyone needs something doing.
I'd like a cable too :) group buy ????
I was informed 2 days ago that my ordered XR25 cable had been dispatched. So it should arrive soon. Can't wait to get it!
I tried my XR25 USB cable this afternoon. It works! So I can run a diagnostic on my car now! Good stuff!

I'm not a member of Retro Renault, so has there been any update on this?
i.e. what is needed, where to get the cable from, what software do you need and where can you get it?
