It's at the back of the handbrake lever...
Take off the surround trim,
But more then likely it's the bulb going into the clocks thats blown....

There is no trim, just the carpet?!
there is a black trim around the handbrake andy
I'm having the same problem. Replaced the bulb, but didn't cure it. Had a look at the handbrake after unclipping the trim but I still can't get it to work. I couldn't really see much when I had the trim off mind. Any other suggestions?

Same here. I changed the bulb on mine with no success
Have you removed the handbrake trim and looked down? I can't see anything that would be remotely close to being called a switch. I sprayed WD40 down just in case though, but to no avail. I'm stuck :(
It is at the back of the assembly, a simple plug goes in.
I can't get the carpet back far enough to access it :(
