View Full Version : Drill advice
I need a drill for sanding. I need the drill to be powerful enough to sand rust off steel.
What power drill should i go for? I think you can get a 710 whatt drill for about 20 pounds. Is this powerful enough for that.
Also i will be using small attatchments rather than big sanding disc. Any recommendations?

Go on www.screwfix.com and buy a cheapo angle grinder for about a tenner, and get a wire cup brush. They're by far the best way to remove small amounts of rust.
See ya

Catch me on msn, i can get you an angle grinder wiht an assortment of discs for about £15-£20, and then you can get a wire brush to fit it from machine mart for about £6, far better than any drill.
Alternativly i can get you a 710W mains powered drill, wiht hammer action if you want to drill walls, for around the £25 mark, and an assortment of wire brushes to fit for around £2-£3 each.
And then the Norfolk - Midlands cargo train can deliver them...heard ti runs on chocolate

personally id use an angle grinder with a flap sander disc mate. but not to coarse or you'll end up with a bit of filling to do
