posted this on cliosport, but thought id put it on here as well...
so there it is, the whole reason why my engine seized, and my crank wouldn't budge...
EVENTUALLY got the sump off.... and then saw some little pieces of metal in it...
the shell had actually stuck to the crank shaft...... then when we took it off, we saw that the crank will need regrinding - slight scuff marks (its was on number 2)
So......... LUCKY LUCKY ME!!!

Blocked oil-ways perhaps?
Is this from a 2.0 conversion btw? if so just wondered if u used the williams oil pump?
BigChris

yeh, 2.0 conversion, and used williams pump, litterally a straight swap... so no bits were changed...

Hmmm... well my only other thoughts if it wasn't oil starvation is maybe its just been thrashed to death, broken the locking tabs on the bearing shells and been spinning in their bearing seats like a b*stard for quite a while!
Or you filled it with treacle instead of oil? teehee

well, last time i filled it with oil i used castrol gtx Magnatec - dunno if thats any good... but was recommended that...
ill be replacing the oil pump anyway....

Get some ELF or Silkolene in future mate IMO. 8)
