Hi all. Put car back together last night after doing head gasket, it started up but was really lumpy so then thought take it for a spin to see if it sorted out as been sat for a bit. Then got about 500 yards after going into 2nd gear and it konked out. Now it won't even start and doesn't sound like it wants yo turn over. No idea what could be so desperate held needed

sounds like a timing issue there dude.... :(

Check the vacuum pipes leading to your MAP sensor.

If the pipe isn't connected it'll run extremely lumpy and struggle to start.

If it's not plugged in it won't start at all

I think you need to double check all your wiring and vacuum pipes. Of course, it's worth checking your timing is correct also!

Did you manually crank the engine before starting it up?

Been away all wkend and on lates this week but will try have a look tomoz morning. Yeah once cam belt was on cranked over by hand to check for any resistance and all seemed fine. Just annoying that it started up at first and now won't even show sign of wanting to start

Does fuel pump prime and does the starter motor crank the engine?

Yeah it primes and the motor turns over. Just doesn't sound like wants to start. I've got spark too

Tried spraying carb cleaner or something down the throttle body and tried turning it over? Could try that, see if it tries to start off the fumes.

You didn't leave the ECU outside in the car with all the stuff apart, overnight or in the rain did you? have a look at map sensor as Cliokiz says as well.

I once left a fuel line clamp on once and forgot all about it. Couldn't work out why car died on me lol.
