These are bubble prices. In 2005 with all that cheap borrowed money floating about it might have been 'worth' 50k. Worth as in people lost all sense of what money is and the value of things. Easy to make bit purchases when all you have to do is sign a form at the bank.

But its not really 'worth' more than any other 20+ year old french car. Now people have no access to borrowed money on the cheap (and wont again for a long long time) cars like this just wont sell.

When the second banking crisis hits in the next few months cars like this will find their true market non-bubble prices which i would suggest is about 10k.

The mk2 escorts are the same. Some are for sale for 80k.

Looks very non factory to me, the colour for a start, the wheels and the fact the guy thinks the mk1 5 turbos were fwd worries me??
I would go buy another for about 20k even if it needs work. 50k is silly spesh as it has no racing history.

Mk1 renault 5 turbos were front wheel drive.

Really? I always thought the gordini mk 1 turbo was rwd? Then fwd on the mk2 gt turbo, lol I'm probably wrong as ever ha ha.

But I can say for sure the car in question is rwd, I know that much! :)

Cool car, but would have thought that the mileage is a bit high to be worth that much.

Still a cool collectors piece even still though.

I suspect they are "trying it on" with that price though, thats almost getting towards rs200 money!
