Not seen one like this before. Must have a strut brace with that built in piece?
looks like a DIY strutbrace to me :)
is that in a renault 5 ????
Similar to mine:

Massive improvement, cant imagine why everyone doing trackdays etc doesnt have similar, just makes so much sense to have a mount as high as possible on that side to stop the engine moving around as otherwise there is nothing stopping the top going back on the passenger side.

Yes, a GTX shell I think. It was apparently one of the test mules for the F7R/P back in the day.
its not a mount its an engine movement limiter !!

Yes: HERE (http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/34353/1988_renault_5_gt_f_16_historic_rally_race_car.htm l)
Actually, having had a further look at this car, it looks damn interesting! It's not a GTX, it's a 1988 Renault 5 GT F-16 Historic Race / Rally car.

Agreed, its not load bearing, it just stops the engine moving as much, more commonly referred to as an "engine steady" or an "engine damper"
Well, it looks like a pretty good idea and could maybe be incorporated into a strut brace.
