Well 1st off you need to bin that throttle body, you'll need a cable operated 1 from a ph1 engine

As above, you need to bin the electronic tps throttle body and get Ph1 172 one on. You may also need to make custom downpipe as F7 and F4 don't have even slightly similar exhaust manifolds(F4 is much better).
There's also some wiring needed, I have f0xy wiring diagrams(Valver F4R conversion), tell me if you'll need them.

Yes the downpipe of the manifold seems to end too high ,not sure if thats gonna cause clearence issues in the R9 bay ? i got the bits to make a downpipe though if it comes to that .
would not mind having a look at the wiring diagrams if you can send mate ? Bought the engine as it was going cheap ,have not 100% committed on using it yet :)

The engine is out of a 2002 car with 83k miles on the clock but there was no proof of the cambelt change !! Am i right assuming it needs doing yesterday and it costs a helluvaa lot on these engines ?
I have also got the ecu that came off the car , is it any good ?

There is a brand new clutch on it as well which is 120 quids worth i have been told . I am not in a rush to put this in the R9 yet as i believe i can get similar sort of power from the F7R i am running allready with cams, remap etc . and i would not have to fokkabowwt with wiring .

So will be collecting some info on the conversion and keep the engine for a bit as my priority at the moment is mintilising the Chamade ,running it as a daily driver

Yep, it costs more, because it's not a straight forward job, you need special Renault tools, because of "de-phaser" pulley, you obviously need more knowledge to do this.

it'd be cheap enough being out of the car - I'd personally just take it as is to a specialist and get it done on a bench.

Ecu is no good.
You need a phase 1 172 loom, ecu and throttle body.

 i squeezed the f4r into my 5 a few years back

Excuse the bodged manifold and downpipe but it worked made 177bhp

Get it in, there the shizzle. i tickled my head and bashed it tn me 5 turns out my 2'' zaust is too small, and the bottom end is fooked 8bar on 2 cyls 11 on other two, but still 176 on the rollers. thats good power and ud need cams and head work to get any where like that on a 7r

so imageon the fun when i get round to re build high comp and cams 210 bhp thank u please

easiest way would be ph1 inlet manifold as the ph2 one has no idle control valve.

Cambelt isn't such a big deal on the bench, but you still need the special tools to get the timing right.

I am still debating whether to play fUKCers trying to get this run in my 9 or just get the f7r in there tweaked to Fcuk !!

I want 170+ bhp thank you please

Just put the F7 in mate!

Drives lovely! More bottom end torque then a 172

fit a F7R and a set of 270 cams ( either piper , kent or cat ) and you WILL have around a genuine 170-180bhp 135-140lb/ft timed and mapped. a lot easier than ****ing about with that ugly mk2 lump which forever seems to blow up  :D

I hope you mean 140 lb/ft atw's ?

A standard f7r has more then 140 :P

no it doesn't

they produce 129lb/ft 175Nm @ 4.1k at the fly as std :D

what about this
Compression ratio: 10:1
Maximum power: 108 kW ISO 150 bhp (110 kW) DIN (Megane at 6500 rpm, Williams at 6100 rpm)
Maximum torque Williams F7R: 175 Nm ISO 17.5 mkg DIN (at 4500 rpm)
Maximum torque Megane F7R: 185 Nm ISO 18.2 mkg DIN (at 4500 rpm)
Redline: Williams 6500 rpm, Megane 7000 rpm

Willies are proven to deliver more power then the factory says

Mine did 139,9 hp atw with 300k on it and only a sebring back box.
And yes, it was on a correct dyno.

However 172's mostly deliver less then factory says
