Hiya,
Does anybody know where my old Williams is and how she is doing? I sold her in feb 2005 to a chap in Brighouse who said he may race it. Knowing that hurt my feelings as she was immaculate.
She was a Williams 2 that i bought in 1998 from performance cars in Huddersfield, number plate M139 XFC. I loved that car!
If you know she is in car heaven than please word your reply with compassion.
Thanks, Lee

It's taxed until the end of March, so chances are it is still alive! If the tax is renewed in a few weeks you can be pretty certain that it is still going strong!
That sounds remarkably like the registration of the old Performance Car press car...
Ahh noe :(
Close though :)

M139 XFC currently on ebay!
He did turn it into a trackcar.
If it is going to get an MSA logbook...mandatory for stage Rallying it still needs an awful lot to convert it
1) Battery master cut off switch inside & out
2) In date seats
3) In date seat belts
4) MSA spec Mud flaps
5) Petrol tank guard
6) Window film ...
7) As he states an extinguisher system...plumbed
8) Hand held extinguisher .
Unfortunately the smaller things like those mentioned above, take up the most time and send the costs up.
Must admit a good basis though.

Good find Northrop! You should be a presenter on Long lost families!!
love finding history out on things. Its all about the storyies.
I am sure M139 will grace this forum someday ;)
A lot are being hoarded now as they are at that modern classic stage now.
Saw this car today a friend of a friend a got it not too sure what he's doing with it yet it's a nice clean car with decent spec
Ill point him to this forum

It's in my garage!
6698
So here's the storey.....
Now before the haters jump in about ruining a classic a)it was a full on track car before I bought it b)it isn't a low mileage minter (few marks, rusty arches, 11 owners, 137k!) c)the lightest clio is a mk1 and the most powerful mk1 is the williams d)no I probably wouldn't spend an estimated £6k building this but I bought it for considerably less!
It's stripped out with cage and bucket seats etc, coilovers, 4pot brakes, cammed/ported and mapped to approx 180bhp, LSD with 4.1cwp.
So the plan is to msa log book it when the last bits like extinguishers etc are done, then use it for track days and single venue tarmac rallies.
Hope you approve!
Bert.
very nice - it was a good looking car when i last saw when a guy called Steve had it.
Dont feel bad in anyway - use it for what you intend.
Where abouts are you located? Is there many Mk1's competing that you know of?
