I guess the main questions are the teeth on the starter motor and also the clutch cable. But any help, pointers, mistakes, changes please let me know your thoughts. :)

Thanks for reading!

Having just done the brakes on mine I can tell you that you can get Goodridge braided brake lines on a well known auction site for a bit less than on your list. Also the brake fluid you put seemed expensive - Castrol SRF is the best I am aware of, with its only downside being its cost, and even that looks on a par with what you posted. You won't need 1.5 litres - I reckon you could just about do a change with 500ml but if you buy 1 litre it will be more than enough.

EBC redstuff pads are utter utter shite!! Avoid like the plague.

No point "urgrading" the rear brakes as they do next to sod all, new OE stuff will be more than adequate & quite a bit cheaper I should think

Don't waste your money on the k-tec big brake stuff, rip-off price tbh, buy these http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2351805.htm and get some OE 172 discs - 280mm iirc - will probably bring the cost of pads down a bit as well

In fact most of the stuff from k-tec is the same as what you can get elsewhere without their mark up added to the price

Get the clutch cable from renault only, can't find the part number but I expect it to cost £30-40

Rear brakes are the same as Clio 172/182 iirc, so if you search for them too you should find more options and even cheaper - I found a pair of EBC ones just now for ~£50. There are also a few 'package deals' around that include the bearings already pressed in (worthwhile I would think), and pads too if they meet your requirement (didn't notice any that included the DS2500's though)

Standard rears are fine and you only need to worry about ABS if you get a willy 3.

£112 posted for discs, pads and bearings.

:D

Thanks again, had no idea that 172/182 rear brakes were the same, cheers for the info. Yeah it would be ideal to get the bearings in as well at the same time.

Thanks for the link Mat, they look spot on and saving me more money. ABS = Willy 3; noted.

Do you chaps know about the teeth on the Starter Motor? Seems that you can get 9 or 11. Is it a case of whip out the unit installed and count them as it can vary?

Managed to save some more money, also found the head gasket set on eBay and the cambelt kit. Result.

I know the number of teeth can vary. As for whether they are interchangeable or need to be replaced like for like I'm afraid I don't know - I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable (Matt  ) will be back along in a minute to assist... But you can't go wrong counting what you have and replacing it with the same of course, as you suggested.

Starter motor is usually 9 teeth on the williams.
Check the place i linked you to for the gasket set and cambelt kit, good price for genuine stuff.

Wow, excellent, again thanks for the help. :D I'll look at making some amendments.

Just formatted this all into a lovely Word document, well pleased with myself. lol.

Hopefully, this should be attached and uploaded to this post. Easier to read than a notepad file, if people want to have a quick look through.

Cheers.

Thanks for the post, I will keep you in mind! Where abouts are you located roughly?

Can I ask a question, would the car be "runnable" and "driveable" with the cams in and not setup correctly? (Just thinking if I fitted them, but then had to drive to get them setup correctly, would that be unwise).

Thanks.

The car should be driveable as long as you get the cam timing within the right ballpark. If you get the timing to far out then the car won't idle.

If you can, or know someone who can do it for you, time them according to the manufacturers' specs. This will get the timing very close.

And most importantly: make sure you turn the engine over by hand to check the valves don't hit the pistons before you run the engine!

If you need any more info feel free to PM me or txt/tel: 079003 24331 any time.
