Hi guys I would like to get some feedback/opinions on what the best exhaust manifold is for a williams i.e . flowed std, supersprint, ktec etc..... any ideas? always find it best to ask people who have used them. Cheers ANDREW.

Supersprint/Ktec give good results but can have a tendancy to crack.

will only crack if not braced as per the standard manifold. When they are braced they are fine.

Can you use the standard OE brace with it ?

No but as Northy ill tell you what you can do is make one up. the Supercrack has a couple of sliding plates that line up when you have the manifold and downpipe lined up, you then secure them with a bolt. You could make up a brace which you can bot onto the block and mate it up to this to reduce movement.

There is a flex joint at the end of the downpipe:

Mine on Saturday:

Had to remove it again as it has a tendency to blow on my manifold to d/p joint. Sorted now (touch wood) with firegum paste.

You can get a Devil manifold. Has a more OE style flex gasket I think.

you can make a bracket that utalizes the standard mount - thats what i did with mine A GOOD 5 years ago and its fine!

Is anyone running a Devil? Been tempted to get one since my original started blowing, but can't find much info on them

Got a k-tec stainless (essentially the old supersprint) on mine - love it to bits... sounds great, definate increase in power. As Wobba says, getting the joint right between the downpipe and the cat is a bugger - took me many many goes to get it right but again seems OK now. Don't really do the miles for cracking to become an issue (yet!). Oh, and go for the stainless if you can, much better quality.

ive got the same bought it from k-tec and it had supersprint stickers all over it^^^

had if for years and has been welded twice due to cracking, but its still going strong now, made a definate power difference on my car especially with the set up ive got now.

Gaz has just bought a mild steel k-tec manifold and made a huge difference on his car also.

I was on a cracked OE Wily manifold before:

It got mapped with this twice :(

After I fitted the S/Sprint I noticed more throbbing from the ITB's and it pulled better.

At first I had no flex joint. Paddy 16v gave me a flexi cup bit and I sourced a 50mm cone gasket from an exhaust specialist and it seems fine! Initially I overtightened the flex joint bolts, I've eased them off a fair bit now and its not blowing at all. Result.
