Stock chip?

Hello, How can I tell if my ECU has the stock chip in it or an aftermarket chip. In my experience most stock chips are soldered directly to the board and aftermarket chips have a socket soldered in with the chip placed inside the socket. But the 741 ECU I have has a socket with a chip in it with the words GADE VEV written on it???

That's right. Stock chip is soldered in. Sounds like you have an aftermarket chip. Don't know what though.
