Hi,

i tried to fit the AST solid mounts last weekend and they dont fit :? on standard shocks(not surprised) , when doing this i found my shock absorbers are broken, they keep dropping on their own.

so i think its a good time to buy some coilovers, the question is can i keep the car at a standard height with coilovers? the reason i ask is because i keep my car in a garage and the ramp going into the garage is very steep.

thanks very much

hi mate yes that the beauty of coilovers can set them at any height if you get height adjustable ones

got my coilovers set about 10-15mm lower than oe and can go higher, so it can definatly be done, I'd stick with standard suspansion though tbh!

k cool, i had to ask because when they say lowers front 35-65mm im not 100% sure :?

They are meant to drop down on their own.

so when the spring is removed they are meant to just drop to the bottom?

it is but not too fast . also has to have a decent amount
of resistance when you pull the piston rod up .

how can you tell...

if they drop down quickly then yes they are broken if they retract slowly maybe not..

but any shock over 30,000 miles will be well past its best anyway..
