The legend that be Harry over on C16v is trying to organise a day for all us wonderful clio owners at Curborough Sprint in July

Afternoon Chaps!

I'm going to try organize a nice track day for us all! :D .

Basically, as part of my Uni course, I had to do marshalling and so on, and I recently Marshalled for a friend from my Motorsport course, he runs a track day company http://www.doughnutters.com . I did the Marshalling at Curborough Sprint track for a load of subaru's, and even though I was just marhsalling, it was a Cracking day out!!

So far im trying to get an Idea of numbers, of who would definitely be interested in doing the event, the Date will be the 13th of July I believe which is a Tuesday. (Plenty of time to book it off :bom: )

The curborough track is perfect for people who have never been on track before, it is a sprint track so you only go on one at a time, so no real chance of crashing (only into a ditch lol  )
The track layout is here

The Day is £75, but I will be speaking to Tom(Track day owner) on wednesday at Mallory park, and seeing if we can get a larger discount for the more cars we get.

The Day will consist of:

8:00 am
Gates open
AM Session
9:00 am
Sign on
9:15 am
Safety and track briefing
9:30 am
Walk of the track
9:50 am
Go slow parade / Sighting lap
10:00 am
Track opens
1:00 pm
End of session / Track closes

===========
1:00 pm
Lunch begins
2:00 pm
Lunch ends
===========

PM Session
1:00 pm
Sign on
1:15 pm
Saftey and track briefing
1:30 pm
Walk of the track
1:50 pm
Go slow parade / Sighting lap
2:00 pm
Track opens
5:00 pm
End of session / Track closes

When I went last week, in the morning session, the top half of the track was open, and you take in turn to do 3 laps each time, and you can go round as many times as you like.
At lunch time, Tom puts on a nice BBQ for us all, and we can all have a chat and natter.
2pm, then we all go back out on the track, this time, we do single sprints from the bottom of the track, and get timed. Then half way through the afternoon session, we then set up a return sprint track, whereby you start on the start/finish line...blaze round one way, around a cone at the bottom, then back around the track the opposite way, and back across the finish line, this again will be timed.

It really is a right laugh, and i'd love us all to go on something like this, If we get enough cars, then it will simply just be our club!

Give me an Idea on Numbers guys so I can speak to Tom wednesday.

Cheers

Harry :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the track is in staffordshire, http://www.curborough.co.uk/curbloc.htm

So, anyone interested?
