View Full Version : Faded black plastic bits
I am getting the under headlight brows and a Ph2 grill color coded in a few days and was wondering if it would look ok if i get them to spray all the faded black plastic bits in black to help them look new. I use bumper and trim gel which works great for 2 days but then its back to its faded self.
I am including:
Skuttle Panel
Wing mirror mounts
Sunroof surround
All bumpstrips including bumper ones (Am getting bumpers resprayed 449)
Lower grill
Holes next to fog lights
Or will it be cheaper/better to buy all the parts new if thats possible!
Smokey
I use AutoGlym bumper care and its brilliant.
It would be a damn sight cheaper to paint then buy new.
Well im gonna take em off tomorrow and may have a go myself before handing over the cash.
Now do i do them Matt black or Gloss?
Im thinking matt as i want them to look as original as possible.
can i still laquer them and keep them matt?
Ta
ArmourAll on the exterior plastic bits on mine. Applied and re-applied over several days and the black bits seems to last forever.

Nail varnish remover. I know some people have tried this and it's nopt worked, but it's worth a try 'cos it worked a treat on my trim.
If it has acetone in it it will remove all the old sealed in dirt that has built up on the plastic. Once you've given it a light going over use your trim product (Williams F1 gel in my case) and it lasts for a looooong time before you need to re-apply.
Some bits of trim don't seem to come up though, and I considered spraying them. Still not got round to spraying my tailgate trim I bought from Infinicar!
