I just bought a lot of parts a guy had for a project of his but never got around finishing. I don't actually need all the parts but he wanted to sell as a whole lot .. and being that valver/willy parts are VERYYY scarce here in Malta I thought I'd buy them.

Anywayssss .. I wanted to ask whether these pistons from an F7P b/e are standard or not ? If they're standard .. then the valve pockets must have been machined. And is the side of the piston also machined to reduce weight ? the guy I bought them off said they could be aftermarket high comp. ones .. as the engine they where in was running about 12:1 CR

I remember this engine running 13.8 quater mile times .. pretty good for a 1.8 !! It was running some wild cams and side draught carbs. This guy bought this engine some time before I bought the whole lot and does not know what parts or what work was done to the engine.

They're not standard, looks like high compression jobbers, as for the bit machined from the sides I've no idea what that's for :? if they're for an F7P do you want to sell them?

mmmm.. not sure yet.

standard F7p looks like that on the sides too, i think its for weight reduction.

that looks like a standard piston with deeper cut out this is needed if the head has been skimmed lots for compression

Definately not std. F7P..

100% similar in design on the side skirts to std. items.
Only crown design is different.
As the side skirt hight seems to be equal to the std. items this makes me wonder if these might be genuine Renualt sport high comp items...
