I have a willy2, and am wanting to some tuning to it, so far it has a sports outlet manifold (got rid of cast one), decat pipe and a magnex back box. This is how i bought the car and am just wondering whats worth doing to the engine, i.e. port, polish, throttle bodies or bike carbs, skim the head ..... any help would be great. Thanks Andy

cams, pulleys and a decent remap on top of current spec would come in at about 1500 if you buy new but fit yourself, bit more to get them fitted and you'd see around 180bhp at a push

you need to let it breath first.

mani and de-cat with a good system needed b4 you start touching the cams and mapping

Any suggestions how lary to go with the cams, just didnt want my power band being right a the top and unusable on the road. Also what manufacturers do you recommend? Im assuming it wont matter where i get the pullies (maybe even machine them myself) Also if im taking the enigne apart, wouldnt it be worth port and polishing too? Thanks Andy.

cat cams pullies
piper pullies

avoid kent pullies they are well known on here to fail and cause epic damage

You could probably hit the 200 mark with a set of ITB's, you would have to fit it all yourself or you would go way over budget. Would need proper mapping as well.

Could also have headwork, fit bigger valves. Probably cost from £700 -£1000.

I'm having headwork at the moment with a Megane head.

Bit of a long shot, but where could I obtain tolerance information for the engine like port polishing, minimum head thickness. Im a mahcininst and have access to a wide variety of machines so I could possibly save costs this way. Unfortunatly most of my friends in the industry are in to thier vw's and havent got a clue about french cars! Thanks again Andy.

i'm well aware that i need to turbocharge the engine, but what are the right parts to acheive 'my goal' ? :) i have a F7P that will have williams pistons in spring, etc.

defiantly want to look at low compression forged pistons for higher boost capability, usual turbo stuff needed to fit a turbo, plus higher rated map sensor/different injectors to cope/fuel pressure reg/fuel pump maybe depending on full spec

cant remember what turbo coops or the others run if im honest!
