Hello All,
I hope it is ok to post a 'Megane Engine' question here, suggested from one of your supporters who thinks 'you' may be able to help?
I am restoring an old Single Seater (Formula Renault 2.0 1993) and have upgraded the standard 1.6 engine to the Megane F7R D 710 Engine 2.0 16v 1999 and original Fenix5 ECU and Loom.
The ECU is the Siemens Fenix5 part number on the system is as follows:
S103717102C / HOM7700868306 (7700101922 Smaller Number Underneath)
The problem is after wiring it up (harness was in bits) the injectors will not fire, its as though the ECU earth to the injectors is at fault?
I have fuel to the rail and the injectors do fire when tested with 12v battery.
When cranking the engine the injector voltage is 0.35v approx. I believe the voltage here should be 12v and 16ohms?
Is this a problem with the Crank Sensor or otherwise? I have 1-5v output at the Crank Sensor (Dependent upon position).
To date I have checked the following:
WOW Fault Diagnostic (Low RPM only)
General system wire-up
Earth points
Wire continuity tests
Sensor continuity tests
Crank Sensor signal (1-5v available dependent on position)
Cam sensor pin tests 1&2, 1&3
Starter motor interference (ok)
Fuse & relay tests
Coil pack tested
Injectors tested
Fuel system tested
We are at this stage using part of the fuse box system until we get the engine running and then can make the required harness for the car.
We are using the following fuses and relays:
Relays:
Fuel Pump - Brown
Control Unit - Green
Fuses:
F4 - Engine Function 7.5A
F6 - Engine & Injection Protection 30A
Our problem remains that the injectors only receive 12v on initial fuel and system prime (i.e key turn) and then will not receive signal thereafter.
However I feel I am no closer to solving this problem, and as yet have failed to be able to trigger or activate the injectors from ignition.
I am beginning to wonder if the ECU is 'shot' for want of a better word?
All help welcomed!
Regards
