ITB's are a hot topic right now but something ive always wondered...
Whats the deal with running ITB's without filters? On a track of course but surely with forward facing trumpets the risk of ingesting something is going to be pretty big plus just general grit and sand getting in messing up your precious as presumably highly tuned engine. But it kinda also seems pointless running them with big filters as it saps a load of strength. What do most people do? How high are the risks for open ended raw power?
Im guessing oil changes would be more frequent and would get rid of excess dirt but surely with the lengths builders go to to keep the internals clean it still can't be good over time.
If you were to run both(filters for road) then would the engine be mapped with filters on or off?
